Now that was a hectic but fun weekend.
Some of you already saw what I did Friday night. I applaud those who took my advice to stay away from that Devil movie "Quarantine"... but I understand those who are going to see it just because I was so freaked out by it and you want to know why I'm such a girly-man. Don't say I didn't warn you. I do expect a full report once you return... if you do, that is.
On to the rest of Weekend Update...
Once again, I'm going visual for this, in part because I actually have photos, and in part because it's Monday and your tolerance for long posts is probably somewhere between your desire to get impregnated by bin Laden and your desire to have the government fund another corporate bailout.
On a quick note, I went to karaoke on Saturday night with my bro, Capricorn and church people...I was proud of my bro's country twang and my "Breakfast at Tiffany's," but all credit goes to the duo that took on System of a Down's "Chop Suey." I didn't know you could karaoke that song. Evidently, you can--- and you should...
Capricorn and I spend most of the weekend together for two holidays we made up-- if Hallmark can manufacture holidays, so can we. Fall Fest 2008 and Cleaning Day 2008 were both necessary and well-celebrated. While Cleaning Day 2008 is fairly self-explanatory (cleaning is more fun when you pretend you're celebrating a holiday), Fall Fest can be better described using photos.
First, know that there was a mother of a rainstorm on Saturday, as God evidently was not as enamored with Fall Fest as I was... fair enough. Capricorn almost blew away while we went to get pumpkins... she chose a nice size gourd, I chose a steroids-size one.
Next, I give you the delicate dance of carving jack-o-lanterns.
I chose a pre-set design that was rated Four out of Four pumpkins on the difficulty list of our carving kit, which I'm sure will put me at MENSA level; Capricorn made her own design.
I was dually impressed with our carving skills....

Coming up this week- a co-blog with AmyXXOO on cultural stereotypes (so I can atone for making fun of Aborigines and because Amy is funny)...and another WildARS video, this time about Jesus and Facebook. It's going to be a good week.

I wish we celebrated Halloween here so i could carve a pumpkin ( all we celebrate on Oct 31st is my brothers birthday ).
When i lived in the US i carved the most awesome pumpkin - it had a bat hanging upside down in a cave - and teh next morning i come out to the front step to find our dog had put his big slobbery mouth right around the bat and chomped it right out of the cave. Total pumpkin wastage....
P.S My half of our co-blog is up!
We carved six pumpkins this weekend. That's so many pumpkins that one of them ended up being Scooby Doo with a witch hat on. I kid you not.
You two make an adorable couple. Even more adorable than that screenshot from Quarantine that you love so much.
Excellent pumpkin carving skills.
I carved a pumpkin too. I will post it on Wed. I love how you put in that pic from Quarantine, made me laugh out loud.
Great pumpkin carving skills. Carving pumpkins is one of my favorite holiday thing. Also, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who makes up holidays. LOL.
Um, sorry Andy, I can't tell what your pumpkin is supposed to be! it looks sorta like a ghost wearing a top hat, with a crescent-moon shaped tail...
*blames own inferior Australian pumpkin-deciphering skills*
I have no idea what your carving is. whoops. haha!
and the puppy pads add a nice touch. ;)
Amy- You guys are totally missing out... I'm surprised you didn't adopt Halloween.
Ben- Six? Dude, that's a lot of carving. And thanks for the adorable comment...considering that Capricorn is wielding a knife in one photo.
Sheila- Nothing like a random zombie photo.
MissTiff- We should all make up holidays
Belle and Katie- It's supposed to be a goblin-esque creature. In real life, it actually does look like one, I promise.
how awesome!
i watched the outrageous pumpkin decorating contest on the discovery channel this weekend, but decided i couldn't compete, so i gave up the idea completely.
and my movie choice this weekend was to go with the new kevin smith movie, but didn't make it. i'll try next weekend. i just can't take horror movies...
Capricorn is hot.
