To discuss a camera, a healthy dog and a reference to the Holocaust

I'll be giving you the big Weekend/Holiday Update soon, but in the meantime, what kind of sweet presents did you get? I'm showing you some of the results of one of mine, a new Nikon DSLR camera (I'm overcompensating with digital imagery the way some guys overcompensate with large Ford trucks with plastic testicles hanging off the trailer hitch). Included is a shot of Capricorn's cat, whose eyes remind me of Uma Thurman for some reason, and a shot of Capricorn and her chihuahua, Leo, who is giving her more tongue than an overzealous prom date.
I got some other sweet gifts and photos I'll share soon.

Bailey is finally doing (somewhat) better. I had to take him to the vet again on Saturday, and they gave him three more kinds of medications, getting him on par with Amy Winehouse, minus the beehive hair and Motown sound. He's got some kind of back issue, but at least now he's walking around some after spending most of last week hiding under my bed like a canine Anne Frank, minus the Nazi persecution. For his two vet visits last week, he cost me about $50 per pound. He weighs 10 pounds. In related news, I'm wondering if goldfish would be a more economical option, if not somewhat less easy to cuddle with at night.

So, tell me all about your present giving and getting, while I recover from the past few days.
And, for the love of sports, please check out the Top 10 (Plus 2) list Joshlos and I put together for Christmas Eve, as I know many of you are behind on blogging.

Isn't having a DSLR fabulous? You will now take 9,000 animal pictures a day.

I'm glad he's a bit better. Maybe you should try some pup insurance although to be honest its not that great in an emergency :-(

You better watch that Leo, he's trying to cut your grass!
; )

I bought Husband various presents including assorted dark chocolate (he loves, I hate), and I got some fancy black beaded earrings and a sparkly dragonfly brooch.

Glad to hear Bailey is doing better!

I gave up on fish, they die to easily. I hope I never need to pay $50 a pound for any of my pets: Chance is 55, Narnia is 93 and Onyx is around 10.

Santa-in-law got us a WII. I may suck at real life bowling, but I can pretend on the WII.

Love the cat pic, btw.

Happy New Year!

I got a microwave from my mom, which I know, doesn't sound freakin awesome. But I've been at my apartment for a year and until Christmas, didn't own one. So in that context, mama came through with a pretty choice gift.

Yeah, I suck as a grown-up.

Congrats on the healthy dog. And the camera. Well, I don't know if you can congratulate someone on presents but...uh, I said it anyway.

I got what every nearly 24-year-old girl not living at home gets: gift cards.

Merry Christmas to me.

10 zillion kudo points for comparing your dog to both Amy Winehouse and Anne Frank. That doesn't happen NEARLY often enough!

(Also? I think my goldfish is about to die, and that makes me sad. I'll GLADLY pay $10 a pound to make him stop swimming on his side!!)

Nikon D60?! Awesome! I have the D40. They're fantastic cameras - can't wait to see more pictures you take with it!

I gave a gate. Yup, I built and wrapped a gate for my dad. He loved it. And I got a tripod for my Nikon SLR. I won't go digital, it's cheating in my book. But have fun taking your zillion pictures:)

I'm glad Bailey is doing a little better!

I also got a new camera for Christmas, though it's not as hardcore as yours as it is pink and slips into my back pocket. But it's lovely.

I'm going to be the total crafty nerd on this site and tell you that Santa brought me a Cricut Expression. Bonus points if you know what that is....without googling it.

Glad to hear your dog is feeling better....love the new pictures.
