To discuss the bad news and the good or bad news depending on your view

It's been more than a week since I posted.

What gives, you ask? (P.S. You're supposed to have noticed it's been that long.)

A couple of things.

Do you want the good news or bad news first?

OK, let's go with bad news, as you have no say in this matter.

Capricorn and I are no more. In what amounted to a mutual decision made recently, Capricorn and I have decided to just be friends. For those of you who have read my blog since it's inception, you've been there for the very beginning of my relationship with Capricorn (even back when she got her name). Please know she and I are still very much friends, and that it's just one of those things that happens, and that I still think she is an amazing person. We have a lot of history (history chronicled quite often on this very blog), and that's always difficult to move on from, but in the same light, I treasure that and accept it's time to start a new history.

I told her that one of the things I least wanted to deal with as a result of our break-up is tell all of you, as you've been following along with us. But now you know. And I hope one day Capricorn finds her perfect man, although I doubt he'll own a chiweenie. Also, happy belated birthday, Capricorn...

OK, let's get to the good news (or the bad news, in a way):
My latest musical, 1776, opens this coming weekend! That's pulled me away from blogging, since we are constantly at practice. I barely even see Bailey, who is starting to give me looks when I get home like, "I slaved over a hot stove all day cooking dinner for you, and you come strolling in at 11 p.m. like you's somebody. Oh no you didnnnnttt."* I tell him this is paid, professional theater, but he just rolls his eyes, tells me he "has a headache" and goes straight to bed.

* In my head, sometimes my chiweenie sounds like a Latina Lucille Ball.

We have shows every weekend from now until mid-August (e-mail me at wildarschase dot yahoo dot com for info if you are in the York/Harrisburg area or want the theater's Web site, where you can see my cast bio).

As proof, here's a photo of me dressed as Roger Sherman, a delegate from Connecticut. You can't see yet (more photos will come at later dates), but I've got hose on. I find them slimming. You'll notice I'm wearing a wig, but please don't stare, as the wig has a habit of making the ladies' knees shake with anticipation.

But that's not all. I also auditioned for ANOTHER musical, "The Music Man," at the same theater, as I'm both a glutton for punishment and evidently the gayest straight man this side of Ryan Seacrest. And I got really lucky, because I got cast as the understudy for Harold Hill, the male lead; I'll also be a salesman/dancer. That show runs late August through early October, every weekend.

Basically, I've got about five months' worth of shows coming up, which is an insane decision and yet delightful, kind of like eating Taco Bell. But I've got no plans to ignore Wild ARS Chase, as I love you all too much and, well, hell, those Cosmopolitans aren't going to review themselves. So be patient with me, and your reward will be ... more photos of me in wigs and hose. Deal?

I would really like to see one or both of these. Please shoot me the information....and I just can't wait to see more of you in hose.

P.S. Sorry to hear about Capicorn but I'm glad that you both decided to remain friends.

Telling us you're no longer with Capricorn, but still promising to review Cosmo for us? I think that blows your cover that the magazines were Capricorn's and you "just happened" to pick them up each month, read them cover to cover and post extremely thorough reviews!

I am really sorry to hear about you and Capricorn. How are the dogs taking the news?

Awww. Hey, I just wanted to say I was sorry to hear about you and Capricorn. Having gone through a recent breakup myself, I sympathize. I'm glad you two are on good terms, it is a testament to the friendship you had underlying the relationship.

And congrats on your upcoming musical! I have some friends in the theatre biz and I see how time-consuming and rewarding it is. Break a leg! (But not really!)

Oh Andy. I'm glad you have a lot of things going on to keep you busy!

The wig is definitely sexay.

Sorry to read about you two, glad things are amicable.

Break a leg!

I'm sorry to hear about you and Capricorn, but it sounds as though you're keeping very busy the next few months.

I'm happy to hear that Cosmo will still be reviewed.

I'm sorry that you're a single-ton again. Breaking up sucks and even if it is a mutual decision ... it still sucks.

At least you can drown your sorrows in your fancy pants wigs and tights (... tight tights?)

Good lord! It must be in the air. Everyone is coming to an end at the moment it seems. Well, I'm glad that you two will remain friends...that's more than I can say on my end.

But...so exciting about your new musical and the fact that you will be staying very busy :)

I wish all exes were as gracious as you, my dear.

(I'm with Kat on the Cosmo thing, though... :-)

Aww bless your heart Andy - sorry to hear about Capricorn but glad you decided to stay friends. " My hate my ex " themed posts just wouldnt suit your blog.
Also, on the upside, does this mean that sometime in the future you will chronicle all your crazy dates? Cos i remember a few from before Capricorn.... and they were entertaining to say the least!

I'm real sorry about you and Capricorn. Even if you are leaving things as friends, this kind of thing is never ever easy. It sucks in fact.

On the bright side, when you're ready to date again, you'll know all the secrets women have from your Cosmo reviews.

I'll be waiting to see you on Broadway one day!

Sorry to hear about you and Cap but you seem to have a very positive outlook on it all. I wish I could say the same with my ex. I guess he is still holding a grudge 10 years later since he ran into my sister a few weeks ago and said I really effed him over. Ugh. Men. :)

Awwww, that sucks, Andy. You're way better than me at the after-break-up-friendship.

I come back from holiday to read this...and you have posted it on my birthday too?

I'm devastated. Honestly.

You are far better at break ups than me. Even when they aren't my own!

I'm gutted!!! You and Capricorn are over??? :( For realsies???

Good luck with your acting though!!!x

Hey everyone- Thank you for all the kind words, support and what not. I'm sure Capricorn does, too. And soon, I'll be back to writing regularly... maybe even do another Bachelorette recap. That Kasey guy needs to be made fun of, like, now.

Not gonna lie - as a theater geek myself (was just called that today, in fact), the wigs and hose are kind of hot. Yay for you doing so much theater - and PAID! Wow. That's the dream!

I'm sorry to hear about you and Capricorn. I hope you're doing okay - drowning your sorrows and channeling your energy into your performances will probably help a lot. :)

I grew up in PA but live in North Carolina now, but if I were still there, I'd love to come to one of your shows! Best of luck!

I'm sorry to hear about Capricorn, but I'll trust you on this one. Hang in there

MAN...

I haven't been here in a while and I apologize for that.

I'm sorry to hear about you and Capricorn. I'm also glad you guys are friends. It sucks to have an ugly break-up.

Good luck with your plays.

I no longer have my Chupa (my wienie dog) he passed away on easter. He was hit by a car.

Devastating? Yes.

It'll all be alright in the end.

I'll be visiting more frequently.

Try not to be too busy and I will do the same.

Oh man sorry about the break up. I don't think I've ever had an ex say such nice things about me. HA!

Good luck with the show.

I'm a little behind on my reader, so I'm sorry to be late here, but very sad to see Capricorn go. =/ Didn't you two move in together? How's that gonna work out? Or am I a moron and you didn't live together? Idk....

I'll stick with the good news.

Congrats on the acting gigs - My all-time favorite is The Music Man - it's based on my hometown! Meredith Wilson is a big thing for us Iowans. You'll do well, Grasshopper.

Sorry to hear about the end of your relationship, but very glad that y'all have been able to remain on good terms and be friends. That's not an easy thing to do sometimes. Keep your chin up, and if things get tough, just put on that wig, pull up those tights and go sing and dance around with a bunch of other grown men. Oh, whatever it is you do in your free time...

:)
